Jay R Sillona

Gaudencio Sillona III , who performs under the mononym Jay R, is a Filipino singersongwriter, actor, record producer and model. In 2003, he released his debut album, Gameface, under Universal Records. The album containted the number one single, Bakit Pa Ba, received numerous awards, and was certified Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. He made his big screen debut in the 2004 feature film Happy Together, and later, released his selftitled second album in 2005. Jay R was dubbed as RampB Prince in his early career and was often partnered with the Kyla . Collectively known to their fans as JayLa, they are known in the music industry as the RampB Royalties .

Gaudencio Aquino Sillona III was born on February 1, 1981, in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, United States, where he was raised by his parents Gaudencio Sillona, Jr., a pianist, and Amparo Aquino Sillona, a singer. He is also grandson of the late Gaudencio Sillona, Sr. . He is the youngest of four siblings. On his fathers side, he has five brothers, saying Before my parents got together, my father was married to somebody else. He speaks fluent Tagalog. Among his musical influences as a young man were Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Gary Valenciano. He attended St. Genevieves School in Panorama City. He was secondyear college, taking up computer engineering at DeVry University in Los Angeles, when he decided to fulfill his dream of becoming a singer.
